Brinkburn U10s v Bishop Auckland St Mary's U10s

Brinkburn U10s hosted Bishop Auckland St Mary's U10s in a cup semi-final on Sunday and it was the visitors who won 2-0. The first half saw end to end football with St Mary's taking the lead after striker Josh Clark coolly rounded the keeper and slotted home. The second half saw Brinkburn bombard St Mary's goal but they could not find an equaliser and in the dying minutes St Mary's sealed the victory with a second goal.

Darlington Spraire U-11s v Newton Aycliffe Youth

DARLINGTON Spraire Under-11s consolidated their lead at the top of the table when they entertained Newton Aycliffe Youth on Sunday and won 5-1. All the goals came in a first half in which the hosts started brightly with Shane Turner scoring twice before Kyle Swainston made it 3-0 from a corner. Aycliffe forward Bryce Imiela pulled one back for the visitors but Turner then secured his hat-trick to make it 4-1 and he sealed the points with his fourth and Spraire’s fifth goal. Although no goals were scored in the second half the game was end-to-end with Callum Buckley of Spraire making some fine saves and even saving a penalty. Man of the match for Spraire Rhys Hunter.

Marton Blues U-8s v Newton Aycliffe Sports Club

NEWTON Aycliffe Sports Club Under-8s reached the final of the Cleveland Youth Fun Festival at the weekend after beating Marton FC Blues 6-1 in the semi-final. Playing at Hall Drive in Middlesbrough, the hosts went ahead with an Adam Rainer penalty which keeper Ben Walton almost saved. But Aycliffe fought back and goals from Jimmy Floyd Cameron (2), Nathan Acuna Ocana (2), Adam Preschous and Zach Barrigan secured the win. Newton Aycliffe will face top of the league Seaton Carew in the final.

Spraire Lads Under-9s v Newton Aycliffe SC B

Spraire Lads Under-9s took on Aycliffe SC B at Hummersknott School, Darlington. Both teams came away with a point apiece as it ended 1-1.
